Shinobu 10 Years Old Pure Malt Whisky – Mizunara Oak Finish is a premium Japanese whisky crafted with passion by Niigata Kotsu Shuzo Distillery, located in Niigata Prefecture – a region famous for its pristine water and ideal climate for spirit maturation. This expression perfectly balances traditional Scottish malt-making expertise with the refined art of Japanese wood craftsmanship.

The name “Shinobu” means “resilience” and “perseverance”, reflecting the distillery’s philosophy: every step is carefully controlled, from selecting the finest barley malts to slow, patient aging. Classified as Pure Malt, it is made exclusively from 100% malted barley – no neutral grains are added – ensuring pure, authentic character and rich, layered flavour.

After initial maturation in American white oak barrels, which imparts soft sweetness and gentle vanilla notes, the spirit is finished in rare, highly prized Japanese Mizunara oak casks. This unique wood is renowned for bringing distinct, complex aromas that set it apart from European or American oak. A total aging period of 10 years allows all flavours to integrate harmoniously, resulting in a whisky of remarkable depth and personality.
