The name “Shinobu” translates to “perseverance” and “patience”, values that define this expression: aged for a full 15 years, it represents the distillery’s dedication to producing spirits of remarkable depth, balance, and character.

This is a 100% pure malt whisky, made exclusively from carefully selected malted barley with no added grain spirits, ensuring a rich, authentic profile. The spirit first matures for over a decade in high-quality American white oak and ex-bourbon casks, building a solid foundation of vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, dried fruit, and soft cereal notes. It then receives an extended finishing period in rare, hand-harvested Japanese Mizunara oak casks. Mizunara is one of the most sought-after woods in the whisky world: slow-growing and extremely dense, it imparts unique, complex aromas of sandalwood, cedar, warm spices, and subtle coconut that cannot be found in any other type of oak. After 15 years of careful aging, these flavours integrate perfectly, resulting in a whisky of exceptional refinement.
